Default Adding some fat qtrs to my scraps

I've sorted my scraps and discovered a lack of bright colors. Most likely, I'd already used the brights in other scrap projects in the last half dozen years. Today, I pulled about thirty fat quarters from my stash and will decide how cut them up.

I guess this is the brainstorming stage. My best bet will probably be to completely cut up the odds and ends smaller than a fat eighth. With that out of the way, I can be more selective about adding the fat quarters. Right now, I feel dragged down by having to stop my sewing to cut more blocks and strips! Isn't that ridiculous when I am blessed to have the fabric in the first place?! I must be tired.....

I don't think it's ridiculous. When I'm on a roll I have tunnel vision and any distraction can knock me off course. I totally see your point. Especially when looking around and seeing lots of unfinished things around me!

I have a huge stash and sometimes I get bogged down just looking at it. I am glad you said what you did about being blessed to have fabric in the first place. I think that about our other blessings too: water, safety, roof over my head. Thanks for keeping us in the moment and grateful.

I definitely know what you mean. I am making a scrappy(controlled) log-cabin and did not have enough logs cut, so I had to stop and am still in the process of cutting more logs. Kinda puts the skids on my piecing roll. This too shall pass, right?
And yes, we should all be grateful for the bounties that we have...I'm just feeling particularly whiney tonight...feel like I'm coming down with the flu..that achey feeling. Just saw a story on the internet about the victims of H. Sandy that still don't have their lives back in order. It's winter and they are trying to live in houses that even if they have heat, the heat goes out all of the cracks in the walls. I feel so sorry for them.

I have been going back and forth between refolding materials to fit into the new storage shelf and cutting a tote of odds and ends scraps into various sized squares for scrap quilts. I love all of the fabrics that I have, but wow it is overwhelming at times. Plus, the other day, an online friend asked that I make four queen sized quilts for her to give to her grandchildren. I hope that I can stay focused on these projects for the duration.

I agree, once your on a roll any 'interruptions' break the concentration and your mindset gets outta whack..

Blessed with many bounties is good... 'cause sometimes at 3am shopping your stash just happens..

Good luck and show us pics of what you decided..
