When I quilt on my mid-arm machine, I try not to quilt to the edge where the binding will cover it. It seems odd to cover the quilting, takes away from the quilting design. My LA quilter quilts to the edge.

Which way do you prefer?

I'm with you. It looks funny to me if the binding cuts offa quilting design. Maybe if it were an all over meander or stipple I wouldn't mind.

Ditto, but I do it by mistake now and then - just learning.

Quilting to the edge. It just looks more natural to me.

I like for mine to be quilted to the edge. But I also like for the quilting to be fairly even throughout. Not heavily quilted in some areas and little or none in other areas

to the edge- to me it looks (strange) when the quilting stops somewhere before the edge. just seems natural for the quilting to go to the edges and the binding is another seam that locks/holds the quilting lines ... just what i was taught- to always go all the way to the edges

I quilt to the edge because I have a better chance of not having those stitches come out because they are under the binding.

Personal preference! Some quilts yes, some no.
