Can I embroidery a label for my quilt with machine quilting thread (Coats & Clark Machine Quilting & Craft). My only spool of embroidery thread grew legs or wings. I

I have used all kinds of threads to hand embroider. I don't have an embroidery machine so I know nothing about threads for them.

Yes, I do it all the time, in fact for lettering, I find it stronger.
