I am making a quilt for my grandfather's 80th using Batiks - the pattern is Earth and Sea and I am using Earth Tonga Batiks. I hope to have it finished early January - havent started yet! Yikes!

I'm making a lighthouse themed quilt with a mariner's star for my dh. Think of something that he likes and try to go that route

There is a wonderful quilt pattern out now called SHADOW BOXES. We just raffled it at our church bazaar. MORE MEN THAN WOMEN BOUGHT RAFFLE TICKETS. I did it in shades of cream, tan and brown. Good Luck and Happy Holidays, Lois

I made a Bow Tie quilt for one of my son's 34th birthday. It was a "Serge as You Go" class that I took but there are free patterns on the web available for standard sewing machines. I used a plaid for the bow tie and a mottled fabric for the background.
