Color Colundrum
#1
Some times I'll see the same quilt done in different colors, hues, values, intensities and textures and I'll love one and hate the other.
I went to get some books on color from the library but they aren't addressing the interesting problems that only seem to come up in quilts. And the information they do have I'm having a hard time translating.
Is there a lesson on the internet that might get me started?

I have the same problem...that was one of the reasons I purchased EQ. I have also found some of the quilting books do address this also.
Wouldn't this subject be a great idea for a future tutorial from one of our artistic members :D:D:D

I agree, I love my Electric Quilt program because I can
'audition' different sets of colors and prints.
When I was doing more I finally broke down and bought the "3 in 1 Color Tool." It goes over different color combinations and has the red and the green color value finders. It is good to see how it helps pick out contrast between material so that you can pack a color contrast punch in your quilts ... if that is what you want.

Amma could you say that a little louder please lol.
Actually I did find a lesson over on about.com. It was pretty good.
The info about white adding sparkle is really really accurate. I had no idea. It jumps right off of the quilt when combined with duller colors.
