Pressure Foot when FMQ? Should it go all the way down?
#1
I have a Viking Quilt Designer 1, which requires a Viking FMQ foot. I've set all the recommendations for FMQ but the pressure foot, even when "down," doesn't touch the fabric. It's about 1/4" above. It doesn't seem to matter but I would have much more confidence if it touched. (I'm new to FMQ and have my first grand success today!) Does yours touch the fabric?

a free motion (darning foot) is supposed to be that way, allows for the added bulk of your sandwich, if it went down you would not be able to freely move your quilt around it would be held in place by the foot. just like you have to drop the feed dogs so you can move around.
