I did a quilt I called "My Flower Garden" and I had 26 different prints of flowers and each 8" square was a flower - I believe I made two of each and then laid out the quilt so no two were close to one another and also varied the colors so they were scattered, and I put black sashing between each block - and bordered it in black.

My nephew and his new bride are into flowers and he loves black - so although I got thumbs down when I started the quilt from my better half, once it was done, he said "This quilt can stay right here!" he loved it and it was both colorful and cozy.

They loved the quilt and I have way more than enough fabric to make at least 2 more quilts of this fabric.

I'm cleaning my sewing room now, so as soon as i get it set up again from shampooing the rug and all, I'll be back at quilting. My next quilt will be a fan quilt of many floral pastels for my great niece, and after that is my applique quilt of horse scenes for my other niece.. so I have a lot in the wind - just need to get this room ready to roll!

We just purchased a pattern called "Just Can't Cut It," or something similar. It is made specifically to showcase a large-scale print without cutting it into small pieces.

Most of mine I use on a back somehow. Or still on my shelf!

I recently picked up a Benartex pattern named Floral Rails. The big snowballs are cut 10.5 inches and the smaller ones 6.5. I also found a perfect print for the large ones in a FQ. I am having trouble getting yardage, but I do have a glimmer of hope. The pattern is available on the Benartex website. Floral Rails is my choice for my weight loss quilt from another thread. The same website has another one that would work for large prints. It's Golden something and made in batiks in their handout.

Sewlmatesister, thank you for the Warm Wishes pattern. It's what I want for my next prayer quilt. I hadn't gone on as pattern search yet. The binding goes on the one that's on the machine today, so I can start choosing my colors for Warm Wishes. Stash, here I come! Yay!

I have a book by Pamela Mostek called "Just Can't Cut It!" It has some great suggestions/patterns for those fabrics you don't want to cut. I haven't made one yet for I have the fabric on my shelf for the cover quilt.

You're welcome, the colors really change the quilt too, google Warm wishes (images)and you'll see lots of great examples!!!

Someone on the board made this one and I fell in love with it. I don't have the pattern, but am figuring it out on graph paper.

A snowball piece is easy and lets a big print shine!
