I have heard alot f good things about this machine and have been researching online for 2 days. any imput would be appreciated as I do not want to spend this money if not a good deal. thanks for any and all imput.

I have this machine on a different frame and really like my setup. It is a great way to be able to do my own quilting without the frustration of trying wiggle quilts through the throat of my standard machine. The price seems good to me too.

I've read on another list that the shelf on the frame gets in the way of seeing where you're quilting. i'd make sure the machine sews well before taking it. good price for the two together, though.

It seems like a good price. I don't know anything about the machine, except by reputation. My only concern is that looking at the machine, it doesn't have a lot of throat space, so that by the time you have a large quilt rolled up in there, you won't have much quilting space.

I've had one of these machines for about 5 years & have and nothing but trouble from it. The main thing is that is keeps coming unthreaded in the middle of a quilting run. The dealer looked at it & pronounced it fine, yet this problem remains. The few times it has worked, it was wonderful, but its sit unused for well over a year now. If you can afford a true long arm machine, get one. This particular one didn't work out for me, its become a white elephant. Bernina is coming out with a Grace quilting frame which one of their machines (I have 2 & love them both) will fit on, you might check into that.

I love my 1200. I don't use it on a frame but have done queen size quilts on it with no problem. You do need to figure out what you want and need in a quilter. I like being in contact with my quilt, therefore, I don't use a frame. Good luck.

If it has the stitch regulator, this is an excellent price. It's an average price without the stitch regulator. The stitch regulator is an additional $500, if purchased separately.

It only has 9 inches of throat space. I spend most of my time rolling the quilted part forward. The only thing I like about it is that a large quilt can be spread out on it, it will hold a king size quilt. Good luck.

I also have this same set-up. Got mine for $1500.00 used. I also have a laser light that hooks to the back of the machine so that you can follow a pantograph on the top shelf. That is the only way I know how to quilt. And I do not have a stitch regulator. I agree with the statements about the throat space. If and when I can, I plan on purchasing a 13-15 inch machine at least. I doubt I will ever get good enough or interested enough to have a real "long-arm". But for the money I believe it is a good step up from a standard sewing machine.

thanks for all the imput..I haven't made any decision yet as to even go and look at it because I do not know what I want or need, just know I want. I am thinking I will just have to find someplace around here to go and really check frames and quilters out. we have a joanns & country stitches in jacskon mi that is close but I am sure there has to be more. I really need to go and check them out before I make the wrong decision. I did buy a singer confidence quilter last may and sure I could practice and maybe use it to do some quilting. and a special thanks to everyones responses.
