We have great times at the retreats we hold in a Quaker Meeting House, directly across the street from our shop! We have 8 scheduled for 2012! They always sell out with long waiting lists! Wish we could figure a way to accommodate more people! We have 30 or so each time!

Both guilds that I belong to and the LQS sponsor a retreat once a year, so I get to go a lot. Love the time away with friends, so relaxing, great food, nice locations (woodsy and private). I like to take something simple to work on, something I don't have to think about too much, so I can enjoy without any stress. Next one is coming up in Nov., can't wait.

Never been to a quilting retreat but if you read, get the books by Jennifer Chiaverini. A whole series based on a quilters retreat in the central part of Pennsylvania. I am having a senior moment and can't think of the book titles. Someone out there, help!

My Guild used to go 2x a year to Ascutney Mtn Inn in VT but it's become way too expensive
Now 4 friends and I go to my son's upstate NY house for a week and have a blast.
The one piece of advice I'd have for a new retreater is do your cutting at home - come ready to sew.

I am leaving for a retreat this morning that starts at noon and goes to around 3 pm on Sunday. It is a sew what you want to retreat. I also go to a retreat that goes from Monday through noon on Thursday. At both of these all food is included except our snacks. I usually take way many projects. Usually work on an ongoing project or start a new one if I have something that has a deadline. The first retreat is in Collinsville, TX and the other is in Milford, TX. Both are great places, one holds around 13 and the other can take up to 32 people.
