Do any of you have a membership to The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims? I have checked it out several times, but have not invested the membership price as I don't know if I would go there enough to get my money's worth. I tend to be an impulsive person and all of you have helped me avoid that weakness as I've read many entries on The Quilter's Message Board. Hope you can help me make this decision. Before the message board I would have just jumped in and worried about the cost later. I'm trying to change my bad habit.

Haven't joined, but did get to see Ricky Tims in person last night when he entertained at his first guild here in St. Louis. Several of his mentors were on hand to congratulate him on his success. He told about his first encounter with another quilter who introduced him to the guild back when there were very few men involved with quilting in 1991. It was a hoot, really, woohoo! He has the Woohoo Nation!
I don't think I will join or get another magazine at this time though. There is just too much available for free.

I have a membership. I purchased it for the Block of the month. I loved it! The videos and tips are a bonus. I don't regret it.

I was given a membership for 6 months and love it. I don't necessarily like all the guest, but I think is worth it. If you want, you can join on a basic membership, which is free, have access to many of the features of the site, and even buy past shows for under $3.00 each. I have done that too. Once you buy a show or a season, you can view it anytime you want and there is no expiration date to it. When they had the free weekend I watched a lot of shows I wanted to watch but was not able to. Also, every once in a while they have a new show for free for the weekend.

You also get a spot to make your own blog, a page to display your quilts, and a message forum that even though is not as busy as this one, has helped me a lot. I was posting there for help with a broken old Bernina and someone saw my post and offer me a machine she had and was not using. Later that week I received a brand new Bernina Artista 630 with all the bells and whistles, a pack of 12 yards of Ricky Tims hand died fabric, an acrylic extension table, and a box of Alex Anderson"s Master Piece thread, plus a friend for life.

I'd say go for it.

I use to be member. The show are a lot like the old Simply Quilts how to shows. Some are very good some not interesting to me. Alex looks so plastic now it's hard for me to watch her. Ricky seems to always have with some great quilt demos to show. His tips is worth the membership. I joined Fons and Porter this year. All their shows are online for $20 a year. I limit myself to one paid site a year.

True. Ricky's tips are worth it because he doesn't teach you how to make one particular quilt. He teaches you techniques that you can apply to many quilts. I Alex runs the show I can't even finish it.

I would join in a minute if I didn't have JUST dial/up. I can't get the videos etc and you can't get the patterns unless you are a full member.
