Default Batting- what does "select" and "request" mean?

I'm just looking at Quilters Dream poly batting, and it's available in "select" and "request" weights. What does this mean please? I've never come across this terminology before. Is it the equivalent of high and low loft? What would each be used for? Thanks

The "request" and "select" in Poly Dream batting means the weight - I think "request" is the thinnest batting. I am a hand-quilter and found that request is too thick for handquilting, but I guess it would be good for machine quilting.

I use quilter's dream all the time, the request is the thinnest, the select is my favorite, and the deluxe is a little heavier, doesn't drape as nicely. This batting makes nice soft quilts!

Chances are that if you go to their website, you will find details of each of the different types.
Also, the packaging should give the same info too.

If your LQS carries Quilter's Dream, they should have a card for you to take home with samples of each so that you have it as a reference.

I've found the definitions on the Quilters Dream website -thanks. I was looking from curiosity, because Leah Day uses QD poly batting and doesn't share the view that cotton is superior. My bank balance would like to think that's true! Would be interested to hear other views from those who've used QD.

I've been quilting for the past 10 years or so. In my introductory class to quilting, the instructor recommended Quilter's Dream Poly, Select. I used it and loved it. I've used other battings in the years since, but always come back to the Dream Poly, Select. I find it provides the best drape and doesn't produce as much lint as some of the cotton battings. The only problem is that I can't always find it except in quilt shops where it tends to be more expensive than other kinds.

Thanks Neanie. There certainly aren't many suppliers here in the UK - I've just been doing an Internet search. Less lint is good news: at the moment I'm using a cotton/bamboo mix that's shedding everywhere.
