I am not always sure of myself when it come to quilting. I don't belong to a guild so I have no way of knowing whether I run off at the mouth too much about it. Thanks Mimi Sharon, I feel "normal" now. I guess I am always afraid I am going to bore someone to tears cause when Iget on the subject of quilts, LOOK OUT :!: :!: :!: :!: :D

I have no such doubts. I KNOW i bore people stiff no matter what I'm talking about because i rarely know when to shut up about anything.

so relax in the knowledge that there will always be at least on woman on earth who makes you look good. LOL

Regarding Wilmington ... i'll start another piggy bank. I vote we pile into a hotel room or two so it's a real "get away" for all of us.

You are not boring, funny and very smart, but not boring. I just don't know many people around here to "talk quilts" to. They are out there, but I have never gone looking for them. The long hours that I put in at work leave me little energy at night to go to guild meetings. I guess that sounds like a lame excuse, but lame or not, its the only one I have. I'd love to find a group that would meet on a Saturday afternoon. That I could do. But as far as the quilt show, I am sooooooo ready!!!!!!!!!!!!
We go on summer hrs next week at work, so I will finally have some much needed overtime!! :D :!: I'll be stuffing my piggy bank till then and we'll see what happens! Shop till I drop :!:

thank you for the compliments. :D

i went to one meeting of our local guild. all the ladies seemed very nice but i didn't have anything in common with them. i didn't feel i'd fit in well and haven't gone back.

one of the members has a store here in town and a long-arm business on the side. people gather at the store (not a quit shop) informally most tuesday evenings. that sounds more like my cup of tea. i just keep forgetting to go check it out! LOL

i figure i'm better off if my "in-person" friends aren't quilters. that way, they're always impressed by whatever i do 'cause they don't know the difference.

There is a great group in Burnsville NC wher our retirement house to be is.
Its held the 2nd Tues of every month but very seldom are we there during that time. I'll get to go next month as we are going up there for Easer. I think the name is the Mountain Piecemakers. I did win a beautiful basket quilt about 6 years ago, bought a raffle ticket/or tickets, don't know which. We usually go up there in October for some of the festivals and thats when I bought the raffle tickets. If ony in my lifetime, I ever create anythng that beautiful, I won't need to go to Heaven, will feel like I am already there. :D
