I am looking for a quilted hot mat pattern that has 2 different fabrics on top that are woven. It has 2 approx. 8 inch squares with the woven strips on top. Can anyone help? :?:

We just had a brief lesson on this at my local quilt ship-- it's like the coasters that go around the bottom of wine glasses, right-- a bit woven?

Let me look if I have directions, or if I can draw some to scan to you (if that is indeed what you are looking for!!)

check out the above thread on this board. It's a really cute hot mat and easy to make too! The directions are down the page a little ways.

Hi, I just finished 2 hot pads that sound like what your looking for. The method is called foldy stuff. You use 2 coordinating fabrics that are sewn onto a muslin base. I bought the pattern on the internet. Very easy and beautiful results. Just type "Foldy Stuff" into your search engine. There are many site that sell the pattern. Nancy J    :-D

Hi,

I was just on line and found a site where they have free patterns. It is
www.cotton-picking.com/FreeFoldyStuff.htm. I think I will give these a try. They look like lots of fun and a good way to use up scraps. Happy Folding, Grammie2Twins

Here's coaster pattern - you could just make it bigger for a hot pad:

If you can't get to it that way, let me know. It sorta resembles the top of a box you have closed by laying down the flaps in order & the last one is tucked under the first. You can do it with all one color, two or 4 colors. Really easy.
