When I secure my quilts and pin with quilting curved safety pins then quilt if the pins are on light fabric and when I take the pins out there is a dark spot when the pins were. Does any one know how to pervent this? Thank you,
Olivia

Olivia, is this an actually stain in the fabric or a hole left by the pins? I find the holes go away when I wash the quilt. If this doesn't get rid of the problem, I would change to different pins, immediately!

I think I know exactly what you are asking - here is a photo of one of my quilts in progress and there are small holes where the pins were. I don't pre-wash my fabric (my quilting teacher advised not to) and I don't wash them before I give them away, so I'm not sure how to get rid of these. I've tried lightly scratching at them with my finger nail but it doesn't seem to help a whole lot. Any ideas?

Usually the holes disappear when I wash the quilt. I just use the straight pins with the Pinmoors though so it's not generally a problem. I have a terrible time making the curved quilting pins close! :)
