You could do SID along both sides of the sashing and a circular design centered on the 4-patch. Or you could add a vine moving up the angled road. Nicely done. I did a variation on the theme for my MIL - called Road to California.

Wow, she's a beauty. You could just parallel stitch along some of the straight lines, much easier than SID. How about 1/4" outside the brown sashing from end to end, then around the tan block in the corner, then around the side of the tan/white four patch, around the next tan square, giving you a diagonal zigzag on either side of the squares. Clear as mud, right?? I wish I knew how to "draw" on a picture. I can see what I would do, but I don't know how to tell you! But I definitely would not do a meander.

whatever you do, show us when you're done!

That is just a beautiful quilt, love your color combination. Stitch in the ditch for the blocks and maybe feathering in the sashing?

continuous curves in squares, pumpkin seeds in sashes....hard to put design idea into words.....look at some of the stencil sites to get some ideas.....do a lot of doodling on paper until you get something you like, then do on machine. I do my quilting on a LA, so I cannot relate to doing it on a DM. I think if I had to, I would "pencil in" some of the design work before I made the sandwich, just like in handquilting, then it will be easier for you to see where you are in the process.
