Default Quilting guild

I have been looking at Patchwork Posse and wondering if I should join or not. One day it's yes and the next is no. What I am asking here is anybody here in that online guild and if so what do you think about it?

As long as I don't have to pay to join I see no harm unless they require you to complete a project and display. I won't do that. Too many other forums like the QB without fees.

I had never heard of it, so I looked it up. Dues are $35/year, about the same as most guilds. Personally, I would much rather belong to an actual guild with real live people to visit with and learn from. But not everyone has that opportunity. If you join let us know how it goes.

I get their posts on FB but have never looked into it further. I spend enough time on the computer now, so would have to give something up if I chose to join an online guild. The local guild here is $35/year if I chose to rejoin it, but it meets in the evening and I hate those rainy dark nights to have to get out and drive.... maybe an online guild would be a good option?

I am still undecided but except for QB and FB I don't really have a good outlet. I would also rather join a real guild but I really don't have much choice right now. I'll let you all know how it is if I join.

I have read sewmamasew blogs occasionally. It is too difficult for me to get to the local guild since the meeting are held at night and I don't drive.

I think I'll just hang out here too.

Another member graciously invited me to join the guild in Dresitown, but I chickened out.

Maybe someday if I get better at it.

What is it that makes you say yes? What is it that makes you say no? What is it about a guild that you are looking for? Have you looked at any other online guilds? There are LOTS of them. Free and not. Maybe you could "test" one out first?
This is a site I go to all the time when I feel like hanging out in a guild sort of environment:
http://www.patsloan.com/pat-sloan-fr...tern-page.html
free patterns, quilt alongs, podcasts, tutorials.....lots of inspiration.
I know this doesn't help with Patchwork Posse, but I couldn't resist providing a little more temptation. :P)
