My daughter needs a full vintage apron for a presentation about homesteading in the 1930's. The only one left from Gramdma is a fancy one she never wore. If you have one to spare, worn, cotton, you know the kind, but must be full and over the shoulder type please PM me. Not sure what shape it will be in to return. Thanks

You can make one quite easily. Find some Old old old fabric with tiny patterns, bleach the heck out of it, let it sit in the sun for a day or so, then use an old pattern from Tip Nut.
Hope your daughter's program goes well, this sounds like it may really do something for the children's' education. I lived through that time, way back in the hills of WV, where every good housewife wore her apron every day of her life that wasn't spent away from home. She usually had a "good' apron that was hurriedly donned when she saw company coming. Then there were the every day ones that covered most of her dress, so she wouldn't have to wash it so often (the dress). Women then never wore pants, so dresses it was all the time. And washing was a pain, no matter if you scrubbed your knuckles off on a scrub board or had a button popping washing machine.

Thanks Ramona. I remeber women coming to my Grandfathers General store wearing their aprons. Grandma used her to gather eggs and apples and tomatoes, wipe my dirty face, etc. I have an apron hanging in my kitchen and (if I remember to wear it)it helps as I am a messy, but good cook :)
