lots of ads in magazines lately

I still enjoy the

Better Homes & Gardens Creative Collection

"Quilts and more" they have cool quilts, easy projects and other small things to make like pincushions, bags, totes, baby soft blocks etc.

I get Fons & Porter 'Love of Quilting' and McCalls 'Quick Quilts'. I used to get Quilter's World and didn't really care for it. However, those old issues are looking good now. I have only ever made one pattern though. I just like to look at the pictures and I like the ads for the various fabrics and stores. There are usually links to websites to download free patterns. I also pick up various magazines at the store, usually before I travel so I have something new for on the plane. There is so much available on the web now, it is almost silly to buy the magazines but I still like to have something in my hands instead of on the screen. --Linda--

I subscribe to two. Irish Quilting and Irish Quilt & Craft magazine. Love them both.

I think I get every quilt magazine they print! I can't seem to part with any of them either!! I find that when I first started quilting that most of the patterens were over my head so I thought they were a waste. However after 7 years of quilting, when I get bored, (I sit with the ederly), I can't quilt for all the hours I sit but I can take lots of magazines. I pull out a lot of the older ones and see them differently now and they are no longer too difficult for me. It's like they are all new again! Frequently if I take one while I have a client at a Dr's appt. I will leave it in the magazine rack when I'm done. Hopefuly someone will pick it up and we will have another new quilter!

I prefer the Quilters' Newsletter and Quiltmaker, but my favorite is Quilter's Home because of its irreverent tone and amusing articles. I wondered what happened to Mark Lipinski, but on his blog he explains that he has health problems. I agree that some of the magazines seem to have the same patterns and color arrangements. But then it's probably because after so many years, these designs start to resemble one another. Oh well, here I go into LaLaLand.
