Has anyone heard of or seen a quilted rug?

I haven't but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I would imagine you would want to press seams open so it would lie flatter and use some non skid underlay or even the spray on non skid stuff.

I haven't seen a quilted rug, but I've seen rugs made out of scraps.

Yes, it was made like a quilt, but laying on the floor on a carpeted area.

They do make non-skid pads that you could lay one on, but I wonder if it would tear up the backing after a while, from the friction?

I have seen them (I've never tried one) made out of polyester. It uses squares folded into triangles and stitched down. I have no idea where to find a pattern. All I know is that I have seen them at craft shows.

There is also a tutorial on making one using clothes line rope wrapped with strips of fabric.

I remember recently seeing a rug made out of fabric like a quilt. It was coated with something like clear polyurethane and attached to a back with a skid proof bottom. It was very pretty and could be wet mopped....wish I could remember where I saw it!!
