Default Quilting in Puerto Rico?

I知 considering a move to Puerto Rico. I知 wondering if there are any quilting board members in Puerto Rico. I知 wondering if there are any quilting group痴 and where I might find them if there are. I did go to one store that had brother sewing machines and material. They did not know any quilting groups. I have a HQ16 LA. Of course would have figure out the cost is shipping etc. If you know anything about Puerto Rico I壇 be interested in hearing from
you. And if this is not the right place to post this, Plese forgive me.

If you click on "Community" above, you'll get a drop down list. On the bottom of that list you'll see "Member List". Click on that to see where everyone is from.

I searched for Puerto Sewing fabric and found this https://www.facebook.com/campossewingmachine
Perhaps they can give you some information.

Another interesting site https://www.juki.com/distributors-latin-america.html There is a distributor in Puerto Rico.

Not wanting to deter you but are you sure that the area your thinking about was not affected by hurricane Maria? There is still a lot of rebuilding going on and that needs to go on.

do they use the same plugs as mainland US? I know even with converters my blow dryers ran much hotter and didn't last long.
Exciting idea, please keep us posted

Puerto Rico had a very depressed economy even before the hurricane. Lots moved to mainland USA for jobs and housing.

Wow, that would be a cool move. Quilting is everywhere. You may even be able to find some quilters there. Do of course look at their cost of living and see if you can afford it. you never know if tourists cause the costs of living to go up. good luck.

Puerto Rico still has to rebuild from Hurricane Maria....the majority of the island is still without power, drinking water, food, jobs, etc. Have you really thought this through?? Perhaps you meant another island or land mass area iand it just came out Puerto Rico??

My gd was living there when Maria hit. I would suggest rethinking your plan as the island is pretty well trashed and the pace of rebuilding is very slow.

Given that Puerto Rico is a tropical island, you would think that quilting is not a primary hobby there. There would seem to be no need/tradition for making quilts.

That said, they quilt in Hawaii.
