I wonder that myself, or is it that women tend to find men who appreciate their hobbies and interest very attractive so the men are jealous.

I know there is not a shortage of women flirting with me when I go to the fabric store by myself.

Heck, the ladies at my LQS flirt with my hubby when I'm there. I don't mind at all. Heck, it might put him in a better mood because I'll ask for a quarter yard of something and he'll tell them to just cut me a yard. Maybe I should call ahead and tell them to really flirt with him & see what I can get then.

Every fall for our anniversary, my husband and I stay at a beautiful Scottish inn in the Hocking Hills of Ohio. Before we went this year, I did a search to see if there were any quilting shops in the vicinity, and found Honey Fork Fabrics in Logan. For the first time in 12 years, we wandered afield from our cozy cottage, and drove through the beautiful countryside in search of the shop. It's way out in the country, next to the home of the proprietor, Ellen. When we pulled in the driveway, there were two signs on the building warning against parking there (neither of them serious). Her husband had posted the first one (can't remember what it said). I took a picture of the one she posted cause it was so funny! Can't remember exact wording, but it said something like "Parking for Quilters Only. All others will be drawn, fat quartered, pieced, and stitched in the ditch." The owner, Ellen, is a lovely lady, and has a lovely shop. She sells online, too, so visit her website:

I think a man taking an interest in creating, is very attractive.
Since my DH has gotten interested in this board, and noticed all that it takes to make a quilted project, he has been helping me around the house more, so I have time to get some quilting done. I think that is REALLY attractive!
Be careful when you go in the fabric store, Billy,...I think fabric is quite the aphrodisiac for some women.
What woman wouldn't want a fabric appreciative man?
customer to fabric employee: "oh, and you can bag him for me too!"

If I can’t remember where I put it, do I still have to count it as part of my stash?
My sewing machine is smarter than your honor student.
Always trust a quilter. She knows her way around the block.
I only quilt on days that end in ‘Y’ .
How can you say I’m fabric obsessed when I still have space in my closet?
Addicted to fabric and proud of it.
Take life one square at a time.
I didn’t lose my marbles. I traded them for fat quarters.
Those aren’t thread bits. They’re debris from a creative explosion!

Somehow I believe you on that one, because the girl that cuts my fabric told me that since we both were married that a "friends with benefits" thing would be perfect for us.

That one ranks up there with the time when my wife and I were dating, the waitress sat down beside me and took our order and when she dropped off the check there was a napkin with her phone number on it.

These are all wonderful, but the "My sewing machine is smarter than your honor student," made me laugh out loud, literally! I'm still chuckling and I wonder how I can get a bumper sticker made up with that saying. Too funny!!!
