Krazy Kwilters Kwilt Klub in Anthony , Kansas is publishing a cookbook to raise funds for charity projects (like funds for fabric, batting, etc. for charity quilts; teaching kids to sew, etc.). Yes, we are a 501 (c)-3.

We need quilting tips and hints to complete the book.

I have prepared 628 pages of recipes, and need YOUR help to finish this up right, so it can be printed for our Quilt Show in April.

Please post your favorite tips AND either your name or your QB name if you would like to be credited. Or, if you prefer, send a PM--but that means nobody can see your tip here----

Please, no copy write material, so re-write(re-word) it if it has been published somewhere.

I just know all you generous quilters will help us out here--and don't forget to watch for the book---- I am going to set up a website for internet orders very soon. I will post the site if the moderators will let me--not sure if it will be allowed???? (Is there a moderator reading this??? I hope!) but you can pm me for more information on the cookbook!

I keep my nippers on a long piece of ribbon while sewing and cutting. That way, I never lose them and they are always available when needed.

I use empty toilet paper rolls to wind my bias/binding tape on.

I use curved end needle nosed pliers with a spring action handle to pull my needle through when I hand quilt.

I heavily starch background fabric for machine applique so no stabilizer is required. To do this, I mix a 1:1 solution of Sta-Flo liquid laundry starch and water, "paint" it on the yardage with a large wallpainting brush, toss in dryer, then iron with steam -- all before cutting out the squares. This works for both invisible machine applique and satin stitch applique.
