I watch several on Saturday mornings. Eleanor Burns is my favorite. Not only do I learn something just about every show, I think she's a hoot and she makes me laugh and it gets me going. I watch Fons and Porter but am not as excited about Mary. But I learn from them too, and I watch Sewing with Nancy. I like her show but if it doesn't have anything to do with quilting, I don't watch. I tape them all, then go through them later to see which ones I want to keep.

I like quilting shows and like that most are presented in a way, for me as a new one to quilting, I can understand. I think most are for beginners. I can relate to your comment because I have been there with workshops at my professional meetings.

I must say most of my viewing was some time ago but I just saw one who shall remain nameless and it was the same thing.
I have also seen Nancy Zeman, she seems to be OK.
If it was Eleanor Burns...she was an elementary school teacher at one time...and it shows! LOL Love her quilts though!

Not sure, this may have been just a local program, but Quilting from the Heartland with Charlene Jorgenson was a very informative show...it's not on our PBS station any longer. I do miss it.

I'm beginning to wonder if netflix will have any quilting shows, I know I've found a lot of help on UTube

Although I have a college degree I appreciate the slower pace. What a pity that their "host" skills are not up to their quilting skills. That said, I bear with it to try and learn something even if I do cringe at times. Perhaps it would be wise for these great quilters to do more than one type show. Beginner, mid-range, intermendiate. We would all have a chance to learn.

not all people watching are at the same level.

The quilting shows taught me to sew blocks. It was their beginning level that started my learning process.

If you are above their level--don't watch them.

I miss Eleanor Burns' show so much! I used to watch it in the mid-90's and her "You-can-do-this!" attitude was such an inspiration to me as a beginner quilter.

I remember the first time I saw Elenor Burns ( several years ago now) and thought at the time "I am 46, not 4 to 6. Puleeese!" But she has gotten more relaxed and does a better job of delivery. And I think she just chooses to be happy.
