Just the other day I saw an add for Martha Stewart Quilts selling at Macy's. Does anyone know what is the quality of the quilts and are they made in China? I wouldn't mind buying one to change seasonally. Thanks for your opinion.

I don't know. long ago I bought a store quilt for my sofa and that thing is sewn very well. it's been the cat quilt and washed and washed. but usually when i look at quilts in stores, they all have very large stitches. the one i got had small ones which hold up better. so you might watch that.

I haven"t seen them, but I havve a few summer quilts I bought at JCPenny , machine quilted and I just love them. They have all been washed several times, and look great.

I don't know about Martha Stewart's quilts, but a friend of mine bought a quilt through a catalogue....the description stated, "hand quilted...imported". She brought it for me to see. I didn't rain on her parade, but those stitches were real "toe catchers" and I couldn't help but wonder if it was done by slave labor.

I've heard that children do some of the quilting too which might explain the big stitches.

I'm thinking Martha doesn't have her stuff made in China...
It should say it right on the label though?

I used to see hers at KMart - she's come a long way! - and they didn't look bad. A lot of them are machine quilted now so they don't look any different than if they were made somewhere else. I have a Laura Ashley that is beautiful.

I once bought Martha Stewart sheets at Macy's b/c I fell in love with the colors. Unfortunately the fitted sheet ripped in a weird place- not anywhere near a seam!! I patched it but no more Martha for me. :(
