My grandson has a stuffed dog and when you touch the ears there is a crinkly sound.
Has anyone done this and whats the fabric called?
I heard rayon does not stand up to lots of washing.
So I`m machine appliqueing on a baby quilt with cotton or poly but have a spool of sulky which is the right color. Is this poly or as stong as??
Is it okay to use rayon for baby quilt if you are embroidery where thread crosses alot in a design?
Thanks for all wo answer me.

I use rayon thread in embroidery on quilts, and for appliquing pieces onto the top, I have even used it for quilting as well. I am not a purist LOL

Some are crinkling up potato chip bags and sewing them into the quilts for the crinkly sound.

I have a few dog toys like that. (or maybe they are cat toys, but my dogs love them.) Whatever the crinkly cellophane is inside does not survive machine washing.

On a baby toy I saw recently, the mom said the crinkly stuff was the "bubble" wrap that you use in packing -- you know, the kind everyone has to "pop" before they throw away??

You can use empty wipes packages or empty chip packages for the crinkle noise (wipes would be less bug attracting I would imagine). There are all kinds of instructions on the web.

Yep and the plastic around microwave popcorn crinkles too!

I would pick popcorn over having to change a baby diaper to get a wipes wrapper ANY DAY!

P.S. I change diapers daily and have been for six (almost seven) years. lol

Just don't use Sunchips bags. They're biodegradable so they probably wouldn't last long. They are loud though...

I don't know what they are but I know DGD loved toys like that when she was a baby.
