Has anyone made a "quilt as you go quilt" or any quilt that is similar? I have several books that pertain to a quilt as you go method and I really want to make one but hate to put out the expense and time if it promises to turn out shabby.
If anyone has experience with making this kind of quilt I would really like to hear of your experience.
TIA, Phyllis

I use the quilt as you go method for most of my quilts. No one can tell the difference. I usually do a big quilt in four or six sections and hand stitch the seams closed. Some quilts I do a block at a time with sashing strips in between. I use the Georgia Bonesteel method. It's not a faster way just an easier way for me to machine quilt in sections.

There was another post on the subject that has lots of info in it.

I use QAYG a lot. I love it. I don't machine quilt and I don't have room here for my floor frame to do hand quilting. It's fast and simple to do QAYG and I can take it with me anywhere.

I love it! I say give it a try. It is super simple.

Just finished my first Fun & Done/Quilt As You Go. I love this method! It's easy & looks great. I've read several books on Quilt As You Go and I couldn't understand the directions. Fun & Done has wonderful directions and illustrations. Try the Fun & Done method, then move onward and upward from there.

What is a fun and done? Is there a book on the subject? I have one book on the quilt as you go method and it seem very complicated. The book that I have is "Block by Block". If there is an easier book to follow I will be very interested to look it up either at the library or on Amazon.

On the top of each page, under Quilting Board - The Quilter's Message Board atr two lines of links in blue. Search is on the first line, right after the link to random topics.

On the second line, you can get to the chatroom. If you have PMs, there will be a number afier Private Messages.

If you go to the home page, most areas have a topic at the top which explains the rules for that particular spot, like how to post pictures in the pictures section.

Could you post a photo? We have been discussing quilt as you go and I bought three of the patterns. Would love to see one actually finished.
