    Default need help

I'm new at posting a new thread so please bare with me. Want to make a "mountain" quilt for my daughter and her husband. The technique is easy; use 8" triangles and cut them from left 2 1/2" (1st cut) 2 1/2" (second cut) final cut 2 5/8". You get mirro images when you layer 2 triangle sqs. the correct way. My problem is the highest peaks do not match up. They are about 1/4" off-set. Does someone know what exatcly I'm doing wrong? I always make a sample block prior to cutting all my blocks. Thanks for any imput.

Sorry, Seabreeze - just can't picture what you are trying to do. Are you making the block called Delectable Mountains? Can you post photos to show us what is the problem? Lots of us are visual learners, and this helps.

When I make mine I cut them the same dimensions , so they do line up. I think the issue is the different widths.

Elanor Burns does hers a little different than Bonnie Hunter's, but she also cut her strips all at 2". I agree with Lori S. I think that is your problem.

Also, about 22 minutes into the video above, she shows how to pin the centers together to make sure those points match.
