Default Rag quilt question

I am in process of fmq on a quilt top made rag style from 6" denim squares and a pieced back of flannel scraps ....my question is when clipping the seam allowance to fringe the edge, how far apart do you clip and how close to the seam ?

I just measured mine and some were 1/4" and others were 3/8" It is hard to be precise on clipping. Not a lot of fun! Hope you have SHARP scissors or clippers !! Good Luck !!

I trimmed those seams as close as I could. The closer the easier it rags.

1/2 inch from edge to seam.. and snip as close to the seam w.o clipping the seam and the distance of snips depends on how close you can snip.. it all varies..
