Ready to FMQ this... but how??

Ready to FMQ this... but how??
I now have this all basted and ready to quilt. My only question is HOW? I don't want to ditch stitching. I would like to try something a bit more "designed" it that makes sense. The solid corners in each star I can figure out something there no problem, but what about the square checkerboard inside the stars or the large brick blocks.
I just want something fairly easy as my FMQ skills are stll progressing. Any ideaa?? Please?

I'm afraid I don't have a good recommendation for the quilting, but I do love the quilt! So far my FMQ skills have been restricted to meandering, "hairbands", leaves, and swirls. I can outline ok too, but that's about it. My next quilt is going to have "designs" but I haven't decided what yet! Good luck.

look through books/magazines of quilting designs-then trace/draw a design out on tracing paper- or plastic- and place it on the quilt to see if you like it-
sometimes i have to look for days- and try numerous things before i finally figure out what i think would be best.

I have never tried FMQ, but I just read a thread where someone was successful with swirls or loops...and it was her first attempt. My friend who taught me to quilt always says that if you have squares, you ought to put curves in when you quilt. Maybe you can practice some of those. Me, I am just sticking with SID for now. I like it and am fairly good at it. I will look forward to reading other responses you get. Maybe I can decide to FMQ also, but just maybe.

I would do a stylized spiral sunshine/star both in your pieced stars and in the rectangle areas. The repetition would tie those elements together.
For practice, try photographing your blocks, then print at full sheet in grayscale, several copies. You can practice your design motif with a sharpie until you are pleased with the basic idea.
