I was given a rather old crazy quilt top. I had to add a lining and border to it. On working on the squares I found many of them are worn and have pulled apart so the lining shows through. Can I do something to cover these spots, to prevent them from becoming larger? The Blocks are sewn together with the feather stitch. Thank you so much.

You didn't say where the wears are... on the seams? under applique pieces? at the decorative stitches? Did you get any of the fabric used on the top with the top when it was given? if not, can you use any hankies or doilies, or lace? The only other thing would be to talk with a quilt restoration and see if they can be of help. Your local guild may know of a reputable one nearby or you could go to a quilt restoration site on the web and get some answers possibly. good luck.
