To MargeD: Our home Ec. class must have shared the same curriculum because I still have my red/white gingham apron with my name hand embroidered on the bib and rick rack around the two pockets. You should have seen how horrible my stitches were back then. I made it on a featherweight and my stitch lengths were all over the place. How it all began...

I love rick rack, but it's my generation. Or maybe my Mom's.

No wonder my DIL looked at me funny - when I wanted to put ric rack on a doll on a quilt::: She said that it was a little old fashioned but I still like it and did it anyway:::Does remind me of home and I think your right Wanabee - must be the generation!!!!

My Grandmother did this and edged pillowcases. I love rick rack -- it gives me a warm feeling when I see it trimming something.

It depends how it is used. Made some skirts for my granddaughters and it was darling on there. Certain patterns it can really embellish, just depends.

When I see rick rack I think of the Lanz dressed that were popular in the early 60's. I couldn't afford one, but found a similar floral stripe fabric, trimmed it with white rick rack and made my own. Friends thought it was the real thing. Ü
