I recently hung up my family tree wall hanging in my cubicle at the office, next to a flyer for an upcoming quilt show...I thought maybe I could spark some interest.
Surprise, surprise, a girl told me her DH & FIL were just about to send her deceased MIL's quilting & craft supplies to a thrift store, but if I was interested, I could take what I want.
Good God, she came to work with her little car jammed full!
So far I've counted 98.5 yards of just cottons!!!
There's also 11 yards of a very pretty decorator fabric (she must have been planning on making curtains);
20 yds of solid white or offwhite;
6 yds of Wonder Under (hope it's still good!);
2 bags of poyfil (always handy);
1 queen size quilt batt (poyester);
a big pile of large, half-square triangle quilt blocks in red/white & black/white plaids;
some denim,
some unbleached canvas,
miles of muslin,
A tiny Omnigrid traveling cutting mat, and
several yards of fusible fleece.
Coincidentally, this was given to me on my birthday!
I'm still counting....I might be half way through the pile.
I plan to wash & press....that should take me about a year!
On the down side, DH is really ticked off. (Get over it.)
Can anybody tell me what types of things people use fusible fleece for?

Congrats on your Birthday Present :thumbup: As for fusible fleece, I tend to use it as part of the lining for bags. It adds some structure but still keeps the back from feeling really stiff. Hope that helps.

I use Fusible Fleece in bags, purses, table runners and jackets, all of the small projects that need body without a lot of weight. What a wonderful birthday gift you received. As for your DH who is annoyed, guys don't "get it". My DH would have the same reaction (or worse). It would be a different story if it had been tools, fishing gear or whatever turns his crank. Tell him fabric is much cheaper than paying for therapy or a divorce.

I use LOTS of fusible fleece for making purses/bags. If you have any that won't stick (it sometimes happens even with new stuff) use the basting spray to hold it in place while you quilt the project. It is great for adding shape to the bags.
Nice birthday gift.

Congratulations on your big birthday gift. I used fusible fleece in a phone case I made recently. Gave the phone some padding.
