I had 2 of these....gifts & finally got around to opening one. That's not an easy job to begin with, but my question is, how do you store them once opened?
Was able to return one un-opened.Haven't used batiks, but will need to use this one.
I think the mfgr could design a better way to display the pops,to show colors enclosed.Just my gripe....

PS....now there's another thread advising never to use any batiks without washing first. How does that work with Bali pops? I was thinking of sneaking them into scrappy quilts to use them up.I don't pre wash but ?

Don't wash the precut fabrics! You will end up with a tangled mess. When the quilt is complete, wash it with some Shout Color Catchers. If using dark colors, use a couple of the Color Catchers.

I have honestly never had a problem with fabrics bleeding, but others have. I use predominantly batiks. Recently, I went back to prewashing with the color catchers. I washed 37 fat quarters by Barbara Brackman for Moda (Civil War collection) with two color catchers and colorless detergent, and the color catchers came out as white as when they went in. I wish I hadn't bothered, I ruined the lovely smooth hand of the fabric and spent an hour snipping off the thread boogers. I still have to iron it all. The only time that I prewashed and the color catchers did NOT come out white was when I used blue detergent. Just my experience, and I'm not that prolific in producing quilts as other board members. I just started using some old, bought on sale jelly rolls this year, and I find the Bali Pops to be perfectly cut as far as I can discern, compared to others which can be wavy, though likely no worse than I would cut.

Funny how we all see different things. I would NEVER was a pre-cut jelly roll, charm, etc. I always think that Bali Pops are much better at showing what is inside when compared to a jelly roll.

do not pre wash..
and i would find a small pattern you could use them for! not to mix them in with a scrappy quilt!

google "moda bake shop" this is one place where the have free patterns using pre-cuts!

I love pre cuts and I have had some problems with Bali Pops not being cut accurate I still buy them. The colors are luscious and you get all the color range in one Bali Pop. I never pre wash pre cuts. Moda pre cuts have never bled and so far the Bali Pops haven't.

You can wash/rinse the Bali's in the sink. Just fill it with water and let them soak. ( only put like colors together) And just rinse them under the tap water.
Do not trust you may have one that does not run/bleed.

I'd find a neutral color or black and make the Missouri Quilt company tube quilt before I'd lose the beauty of the batiks in a mix.

Thanks to all. Will use color sheets to wash, even tho I can only use 3 out of 40 Bali pops.....to keep like colors. Have no idea what I'll do with the rest. That's a puzzle for another day.
