First, let me say what a great source of wisdom this group provides. Please clarify for me what the Harbor Freight rotary cutter is. I have been in touch with my local store and they only have a straight edged cutter. Using that would, I think, mean that you cut toward yourself rather than away from your body. I would not want to do that. So.... what am I misunderstanding? Phyllis Carol

I order mine online. You can get the rotary cutter that comes with 2 blades it is designed for carpet. I don't see a good application for the cutter. However, the blades fit in my rotary cutter at a fraction of the price. I have order 10 pks of 2 blades each. Even with shipping it is a fraction of the price for rotary blades at WalMart. The down side they have been on backorder for a month. Shipping should be sometime this month. Hope this helps.

The blades are actually for a carpet rotary cutter. Here is a link to them.

The actual carpet cutter is in the middle of the page in yellow. The blades will fit a regular 45 mm rotary cutter.

There is also this post as the blades from Harbor Freight are hard to come by:

part number at HF is 95378 and are called replacement carpet cutter blades. Call your local HF, give them the number, and they can tell you if in stock. My local HF now has them again.

The stock number at my store by me is 97642. I have it memorized so when I call to check I can rattle it off. The number you gave her are for the cutter with 2 extra blades.

If you have used the blades from HF, can you tell whether they are damaging your mat or does it look & feel the same as a regular blade?

I am going to go up to my sewing room and check my mat. I will let you know.
I just checked. I cut with the HF blade and the Olfa blade. They leave the same mark. Hardly visible.
