I use ATLAS NT370 gloves when I garden. I love them. I buy them from Amazon:

A pack of 4 cost $11 + lets say $4 shipping = $15 for 4 pairs ($3.75 a pair)

This afternoon, I was at my LQS and saw ATLAS quilting gloves - the same NT370 gloves I use to garden. They had a pair out for people to try and they were even marked ATLAS NT370, however the packaging was snazzy and had QUILTING on it etc. They were $13 + Tax A PAIR!

So I'm going home and breaking out a clean pair and giving them a whirl with my quilting!

Just saying - if you're interested in trying these gloves for quilting I think you may be able to get them cheaper than the ones marketed for quilting.

I guess we have to admire that "entrepreneurial spirit" of the folks re-marketing all this stuff at way higher prices! But we are way too smart for them (LOL).

Reminds me of when scrapbookers discovered these big industrial tape devices that hold a ton of acid-free tape. They were red but not very attractive. Well, lo and behold, all of a sudden there were bubble-gum pink ones being sold in craft stores! I still have my old red one, though!

Last week I picked up a pair of garden gloves that had the palm and fingertips dipped in latex? The rest of the glove was just like my Machingers. I bought them for backup at my other machine for FMQ. I picked mine up at the $ store but I wished I'd bought a couple more for gardening too. I went back this week and guess what...the're all gone.

Yup, I use those cotton garden gloves that come dipped in latex. Found a nice small pair that fit my hands and only cost about $3.

I've noticed that, too. If it's being marketed specifically for 'quilting' - all of a sudden it costs waaaay more than when it was 'garden gloves' or 'carpet blades' or 'hair clips'

It's just like if you buy lightbulbs at a big box store. If you pick them up in the grocery aisles, they cost more than if you go to the hardware section and get them there. Same exact ones, same packaging. You have to pay for that convenience factor of not having to leave the grocery side of the store!!!

Yes, I love the Atlas gloves. They even have a size that fits my small hands!

You may think I am crazy, my friend thinks so, and says here hands get hot just watching me because a few years ago when I started quilting I ran into a sale on winter driving gloves for $1.00 a pair. They are the kind that have the fingers and palm that have the little bumps on them. I have used them so much they have some holes in them, but they still work great and I used the money I saved buying more fabric and quilt patterns!

I love it! Amazing how many of use the "Latex" gloves. The Atlas ones are GREAT for FMQ and as Kitsie said, they make small and I believe X-Small for smaller hands.

Glad I'm not the only one who buys things (tape dispensers and driving nubby gloves) and uses them in quilting!!!
