I have both the Brooklyn Revolver and the rotating mat. I like the rotating mat but it does not work well when you are working on big pieces like the Twister patterns. I use the Brooklyn Revolver mainly for square in a square patterns but also to correctly size blocks.

I have the smaller one & love it. Highly recommend buying the larger one using a Joanne's 50% off coupon.

I have the 12.5 size and like it a lot. I wish I had bought the larger size however.

I would suggest to get a small mat the size of the average block you work with and rotate that. I made the mistake of getting a 17 in. square rotating mat and it is to big. When you rotate the mat it takes up room. But the good thing about it, is that it does come apart so I can still use it. Hope this helps.

Love mine for squaring up blocks! Makes a tedious job go faster.
