I love the concept of Round Robins. I was just wondering if anyone one has ever participated in one? What were the positives and negatives if you have? Would you do it again? Do you have any pictures of your Round Robin quilt?

I joined two round robins on the internet with mixed results. The first one, one of the ladies kept everyones fabric and quilt. Never to be seen again. We did everything we could think of to get our fabric and quilts back without success. The second one there were five of us and I was hesitant to join. however I am glad I did. MY quilt went to New Zealand, Australia, Indiana, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. It is one of my favorite quilts. Marge

I won't do one again. The first one I did from within a guild was to have four rounds. The only person to get four rounds was the person who did not do her round for the other three of us. And she was the one who insisted we do a round robin.

Again, within another guild, I made the first row, the second row was wider, the third even wider, etc. Just a miserable mess. Obviously, this was a row robin.

Very disappointed in both cases.

I am in a round robin now here on the board. Right now I have the center downstairs and need to put the 3rd of 5 borders on it. So far I think it is going pretty well and it really neat to watch all the quilts "Grow and Blossom"

I am on a round robin and a row robin on this board. I watched last year and this time around took the plunge. It has been a very good experience, I have gained great new skills. Everyone has been patient. I would just die if someone kept my quilt. I handle each one I receive with care and admire them so.

I'm shocked that someone could keep the fabrics and quilt and not send it on! I'm a great believer in karma though... everytime they look at that quilt the guilt will eat a little deeper. There can't be any enjoyment in it.

I'd love to be involved in a round robin, I guess you would want participants of a similar skill level and taste?

yes, that really is awful! I hope that person feels really guilty. I would however do a round robin on the board here, because I trust all you guys to be honourable! :D

My cousin and I do a form of round robin, only we make 2 so each of us have one when we are done. I make 2 12.5 in squares and then mail them t to her and she works on it and mails them back. We are doing 6 panels and lap quilting each as it is done. Cuz only lap quilts and this is really fun! The first 2 panels are done and now it is her time to start the next two. We have 30 days each so we still have plenty of time to work on other things! the anticipation is crazy, not knowing what the other one is doing! And it gets the imagination flowing coming up with unique ideas! Ninnie in NC

I was thinking about the person who kept the quilts as well as the fabrics. I really doubt she kept them. I think she used the fabrics to finish and sold them or gave them away. How could she keep them and see them on her wall? This is why I think she got rid of them.

Is she part of this forum? Just wondering. Suz
