When I was a student at San Jose State, I went to the museum on a regular basis. They were located in a older house on second street (on my way home). They moved to a downtown location since then and the new facilities are an improvement. If you are going to be in the area it is well worth your while to see the museum.

I went to the museum one time, with my older sister "The Artist"
It was after they moved into their downtown building as I know it wasn't in a house. They had a wonderful display of quilts - but I can't recall if there was a 'theme' to them - I just remember I really enjoyed looking at them all. :D

I'm one of those people who live so close by I always think I can see it later, and still haven't. I'm gonna have to right this wrong soon!

I came across this and since I have some friends who may be moving to San Jose this summer, I was curious about it.

Thank you for the feedback, I will put this on my requests for places to visit when I go to visit them :D

I know what you mean Celeste, when I lived in San Jose there were many places I procrastinated about, and did not end up seeing a lot of them, Winchester Mystery House was one of them :(

I took my mother there for a birthday expedition a number of years ago. At that time there was a display of very antique quilts, but I do not know if that was a permanent display. We both enjoyed it very much!

I wish that I could go there now, I am very intrigued after seeing Gloria Hansens new book advertised on EQ's newsletter. Some of her quilts are going to be displayed there April 1st through June 6.
