I vote for sashing. I also don't see ugly fabric. I think it is quite pretty especially the way you are using it.

I like it better with the sashing. Also maybe you could add a thin 1" inner border in the "red" fabric or another coordinating fabric. It looks really nice in the pics.

I agree, the sashing lends better definition and a red border will make it pop!

I like the secondary designs of the no-sashing, but I like the sashing, too.

It looks really good for a brown bag challenge - you've made the ugly fabric look nice - like an ordinary scattered floral print.

I really like the sashing. Don't see anything ugly, just a pretty quilt in the making!

I like the sashing best. Not my colors, but I think it will turn out to be a pretty quilt. Good luck.

Ok, here is the ugly part! I have already been to two quilt shops and was only able to find the one border fabric that went with it. I have a couple more I could go to, but this mauve is super hard to match. I tried to use a yellow, and even though I found one that matches, it overpowers the top. I haven't even found a green that will work.

I am toying with the idea of muslin sashing vs. the floral one. Don't have a mock up of that one yet. The size I was talking about was the pixel size of my pictures, not of the quilt. It is going to be a big lap size. I don't know if it will be going to a little girl or someone undergoing chemo.
