I was a piecing demon last Saturday! I worked up the blocks for my son's xmas present quilt... then kicked out the blocks for my bed's quilt. I'm not done with those though. I didn't have the color fabric I wanted to finish the blocks so I need to go in to town to buy black fabric... I really just need to buy a bolt of black on black fabric... I never seem to have any when I need it. It's the first color that disappears out of my stash! But I got a ton done and I'm so happy! I'm looking forward to kicking out some more stuff soon - having a new speed demon machine helps. I swear I'm piecing twice as fast - and fortunately not ripping twice as much lol.

I spent a few hours Saturday with a dear teacher friend who wants to make her first quilt. We had a blast! Looking forward to our next session.

Keep at it - I love doing Log cabins - the pattern is timeless and the fabrics you put in it makes it what it is. I had mentioned that I am going to make some valances for our bedroom in the log cabin pattern in teal and peach. Can't wait until after the first of the year to start on that - gotta find me some fabric!!!!!! Edie

Sat was my only day off in a week and the only one until Black Friday. I started off trying to finish my embroidery advent calendar but got called to meet my son inlaw at Home Depot to pick up paint supplies. My living room needs it so badly and I can't do it due to bad back so he volunteered. I'm so excited, it's going to be a creamy tan with one wall that is burnt orange. I got an electric fireplace on its way to put on the accent wall. It's Monday morning and I'll try this afternoon to work on my project some more. Its about 1/2 done and I'm so excited. I'm going to make 2 more for my kids but they'll be the smaller versions so they'll go quicker. Then I also finished up 3 tissue holders; a pattern that I got here. Its so fast.

Reminds me of the Christmas Eve decades ago when I was making clothes for "Chatty Cathy" - ran the sewing machine needle through my left index finger and it broke off. Got the pliers, pulled the needle out, put on a bandaid and kept on sewin'

I have got so many projects going at the same time I should be ashamed of myself. I try to quilt a little bit every day. Some days more than others. I do lots of applique so I can stitch while I spend time with my husband at the same time. Kill 2 birds with one stone!! actually i have a very comfy chair in my sewing room that he sits in and visits with me when I am on my machine. So its all good.

You won't believe this. I started to quilt the quilt I'm making for my granddaughter; and, just when I could see the end coming, my automatic needle threader got stuck in the "out position"; and my bobbin case wouldn't come out when I opened the door. My quilt shop is closed on Monday, so I can't take it in until Tuesday. Bummer!
