Yes they are applicate scissor. They are off angled with a big collor on them. The will cut right up to the seam line but not thru it. JoAnnes has them but they are pricy.

And just a good sharp scissor for triming parts that are turned with featherweigh interfacing... Ther are so many ways to applique....

I've never quite figured out what the duck shaped tip applique scissors are used for. I have a pair but they never get used.

Hello and Welcome to this special circle of people who have made the same mistaks while learning, will understand and give you wonderful advice on how to fix it. As to the sissors, I keep a small pair, embrodery sissors. They work for me.

I do a lot of hand applique and I LOVE the 4" scissors made by KAI. If you do not want to spend the extra for KAI brand, Omni sells a small 4" scissor with yellow handles and low and behold, they are made by KAI. They have a slightly serrated edge which grips the fabric as you snip that little critter. You will love them. Watch for specials on the KAI scissors at the larger quilt shows. They will usually have a special on 3 sizes of the KAI brand for $39.95.

The 4" Kai embroidery scissors are $15.

These are the ones I use and love...they are actually made by KAI for omnigrid and I have at least 4 pairs of them as they are great for so many uses:

I found mine originally in a QS in Idaho and then loved them so much found more on Ebay for a really good price.
