My favorites by far are Gingher. All of mine are the original design (none of the light weight ones) except for a pair of pretty designer embroidery scissors. I also have a pair of Elan's serrated scissors, and for some applications they are perfect - but they're not my "go to" ones.

Elan are great for serrated blade scissors. Otherwise, Gingher, Dovo, Bohin, and Solingen are all great scissors.

I LOVE my Ginghers. I have several pairs, including pinking shears, spring loaded regular scissors, and a 4" pair for snipping threads. My original pair is 25+ years and still as sharp as ever. I am careful to cut only fabric with my Ginghers.

Sometimes one can get good buys on Ginghers through e-bay.

It's worth a look!

My favorites are Dovo and Heritage. They get special handling. Honestly I have Ginghers in my kitchen drawer. It's so nice to have great scissors for utility use. If a pair of scissors won't cut a package top then what good are they?

All the scissors I own are Ginghers. I love the feel and balance of them and they are just meant to last. They seem to have something for every sewing/quilting need. Plus they do a fine job of cutting too.

My Gingher's 8" dressmaker scissors are my favorite & I hide them beside me at all times. Those are my personal scissors & not subject to being borrowed. ;-)
