Sorry, Ya'll. I'm one who does not like scrappy quilts. To me they just look like a mess of pieces sewed together with no rhyme or reason. Just my opinion. Hope no one takes offense. I have OCD bad. I think that is why I feel like I do. I hope the quilt police will forgive!!!

love polyparrot's scrappy quilt... have not attempted one yet as I am a new quilter and building my scrap pile slowly... but will derfinitely try one when I have enough odds and ends

I love the scrappy quilt first shown. I believe it would be called a crumb block, as the term was explained to me. I have made blocks in exactly the manner you described, but I made smaller blocks and used smaller pieces. That quilt is currently in use on our bed.
The stained glass window quilt is stunning. I could never do that. I love it.
