What is the most economical thread for sergers? Do you think the Essential
Pro (poly thread) that Connecting Threads sell for Long Arm quilting would
work?

Hi,

I like your avatar. Do you know the name of the quilt block?
Thanks,

I use Joann's cone thread on my serger. Works fine. Maxi-loc was recommended.

I use the generic serger thread sold at Joann for $1.99 a cone. I've had several cones with the "MaxiLock" name stamped in them, which makes me think it's the same thread.

Whatever brand it is, I like it for piecing on the sewing machine and for serging. If you're in no hurry, wait for it to go on sale at half off and stock up.

The Connecting Threads lines would work just fine on a serger.

I buy my serger thread from http://store.atlantathread.com/seandbl.html
They have great sales and I love the maxi-lock but have to admit that I haven't tried others.
I know some people buy from http://www.cleanersupply.com/product...i+lock&x=0&y=0 and are very happy too.
