I bought a used Computer desk at a yard sale for $25, and have been using it for years for my sewing table. It has drawers on the bottom half, open shelving above. Plus the back is open for cords. Since I gave up machine quilting - and send my work out now to be quilted - I don't have a tabletop space issue. I do have a JoAnn's cutting table, and that is indespensable.

I purchase an old wood kitchen table at auction several years ago. There is plentty of room on top and those simple plastic drawer units we all use roll under it. I have lots of worktable room on top and storage below and I have less than $50. I neglected to mention how sturdy it is.

I got mine from IKEA in case you are interested. I had to put it together and each were sold separately.

would you want a cabinet on wheels?
I bought the same one. Absolutely love it. Mine also came with a rolling stool. It has a cushioned seat that opens for storage.

Couldn't beat the price....I think that I paid about $99. Worth that and more !!!!!!

I used a large old desk, traced around my sewing machine on the top where the large drawer would be and cut out that area. The wood that I cut went into the drawer and my machine set right in there on top. Everything was level. I had to leave it behind when we moved and I sure miss it.

Oldest Daughter and I bought the same one craftybear has and we love them, about 100.00, they sold out fast where we bought ours. It has casters on it and lods lots of stuff, we've had them several years, I haven't seen any at Lowe's around here. We are very happy with ours.

I think it's a very nice table and you should go for it!!! I bought a (cheap) L-shaped desk where my serger and Bernina 200 are kept. For my Bernina 440, I bought a table where the machine sits flat for quilting which I dearly love! :D

I think it depends on your space - if you have a dedicated room for sewing the table looks great. I use a bedroom that occasionally has to function as a bedroom. So, I use the 6 ft fold-in-half tables from Sams. For storage I use the roll around drawers from wall mart. I have a dropleaf cutting table that's raised so these carts slide right under the table to keep them out of the way. When I need the 'bed room' I fold up the tables, drop the leaves on the cutting tables, and move the drawers to the garage or my bedroom. Thank heavens I don't have to do that very often!
