Is there a special small hoop just for quilting on machine or hand? Everytime I have tried to use one on my quilts; they pop right off. :?:

    Hi, Ruth!
I have one made of plastic pipe that I bought at JoAnns Fabric. Don't know the brand. It comes in 2 sizes, square or rectangle. There is a plastic sleeve that snaps over the pipe. I love it. It never pops off and is easy to adjust once it is broke in, a little tight 'til then. Being rectangular, I don't have to move it as much as the round ones. This one is worth looking for. I use it for hand quilting. I haven't done machine quilting much, but didn't use a frame when I did mine.

Ruthie, a hoop of 18" would not work on a standard home machine. The keyhole of the average machine is 5-7", so the largest hoop possible would be only 10". Maybe you need to define more clearly what you are looking for and how you plan on using it. There are machine quilting frames available in different size and price range, but these also are limited with the standard sewing machine. May I suggest you do a google search of machine quilting frames and see if this is what you mean by a hoop.
