I have a Viking Husqvarna 1100, it is a 300 Anniv. edition. I was fortunate enough to purchase it from it's original owner, who has worked over 20 years in a large sewing machine store in Fort Worth and had taken excellant care of the machine. I could never have afforded it brand new. I also have a very basic Brother machine that I bought in haste when my daughter finally showed an inkling of interest in making a quilt. She never finished it and hasn't touched it sense! She tried to claim it when she moved out but I told her "No way!" I'm keeping that as my back up! Grr! I also have 3 antique machines, my favorite one being one of the first portable machines made by Singer that has a wooden carrying case, it's just beautiful and still has all of it's attachments, I haven't tried to sew with it, but one day I might give it a try!

My husband just bought be a phaff hobby 1200 grand quilter with table and a phaff coverlock (serger) 4852 this summer. I also put to work A janome memory craft 8000 and a brother pc 8200 and for my main embroidery I use a brother PR 600IIC. I have to admit that I am really spoiled.

I have a Bernina 850. It was my MIL and she left it to me. It is an older machine (over 30 years) without many bells and whistles. It is pretty heavy duty and I use it for everything. It works well on my Grace frame.

I also have my grandmother's Singer featherweight. I need to get the table from my mom when she gets back from snowbirding, It is a great little guy to haul around. Super cute! It is from the 1940's.

I bought a super cheap Kenmore and then I bought a 1/4" foot for it. It is a lightweight machine but is handy when Nina (the Bernina) is on the Grace frame. It will zig zag but that is about all the fancy stuff it does.

I also have an older Kenmore that has cams to do a some fun stitches. Have not used it much. It was my mom's. I think it could use some adjustments and oiling-it has been sitting awhile. She didn't use it much-mostly for mending.

My serger is for when I do garments and crafts. I love how fast it sews and the trimming feature. Made curtains for my brother's trailer in no time!

The treadle machine was my other grandmother's and it is now an end table and not working. I did use it in high school to finish a project for Home Ec. The electricity was out-I was the only one to get mine finished on time! :lol:

Question at my house "How many machines do you need?" I don't know! I use them all! I would love to have a machine just for my grace frame. I am going to research some of the "wants" that people have mentioned. Maybe I'll find one that Santa can bring me. My birthday isn't until June-that's too far off! :wink:

I started sewing on a brother I bought from Walmart, nothing fancy very plain but it was a good one to learn on. This past summer I got a Janome 525S it doesn't have alot of fancy stitches, but their was a special where you got a free quilting foot and quarter foot with it. I love it.

Santa was extra good to me! He brought me a Juki for my Grace Frame. I have only been able to do one top since then. I am looking into some charity quilts for practice. I love how fast it sews and it clips the thread. I can hardly wait to be able to play with it some more.

Fish- I love the Grace Frame :!: It takes a lot of room and it didn't fit in my sewing room so I took over a second room. :D Worked out well though since DS moved home and took over sewing room number 1. ( I wouldn't let him have the good guest room.) I found my frame on Craig's List and saved a bundle and it was already assembled and came with the extras. I never would have had the nerve to quilt a top without it. :lol: Maybe you can find someone that will let you try theirs...???

My wonderful husband got me a Brother CS6000i for Christmas. Not an expensive machine, but the first new one I've had in over 20 years. I absolutely love it!! It does everything I need it to do, and there are still a lot of things on it I haven't tried. Including the walking foot I've heard y'all talk about so much! The last one was a Brother I bought on sale for $89 when my oldest was a baby, and it just gave up the ghost a few months ago. It made a lot of things over all those years without giving me a bit of trouble. I think it earned its R.I.P. :)
