Default Sewing with reckless abandon!

Using stash. Sewing HST from charms. Cutting charms from layer cakes. Using fabric from MSQC that I thought was cute but no idea what to use it for. It's the bubble up fabric line. Lots of little dots. No plan in place. Ideas in my in my mind don't look good on the design wall. Sewing HST together to make triangles. What the heck. Let's sew some squares together. Lets pair 2 HSTs with 2 charms. What in the world am I doing? Drum roll. ...I just made a house block! Appliqued chimney, window, and a door using zig zag stitch. OMG...these turning out so cute. Now have to keep sewing to make enough for a quilt for Project Linus.
From chaos comes something so darn cute!!! (Ouch! Just hurt my arm from patting myself on the back.)

My best quilts have been those that I gave little thought to the fabric colors or designs. Throw in one constant fabric and it all comes together. It's fun to just sew.

I love precuts but not especially fond of layer cakes. I don't like the pinked edges. But charm packs have them too and so do jelly rolls. I have a bunch I may cut up when I get a chance.

This is why I love scrap quilts of just strips or squares! So fun to make and are loved.

I also love scrap quilts - some are pattern controlled but mostly whatever comes to mind and I think they look cool. If I put too much work and thought into a quilt, no one wants to use it, they are afraid they might ruin it.
