iPad app for Quilt Design with My Own Fabric
I'm looking for an iPad app to use for designing quilts. I've searched the board and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I want to be able to customize a design (not just fill in colors of preloaded blocks) and audition colors and photos of my stash in the design. This search started when I decided to adapt a medallion quilt design and couldn't find anything similar to it in the quilt blocks that were available. Also, what if you want to design a quilt that doesn't have same-sized blocks? I would even like to be able to take a preloaded block and modify it (remove/erase some of the lines or draw in a line or two of my own) and then audition fabrics.
Most of the apps I look at will not let you customize your design. I found a blog where a lady was using Adobe Ideas to take a photo, then draw over it to create a design - but there was no way to audition my own fabrics. Free apps I have looked at include Quilters App and Block Fab - but it appears you can only use their preloaded blocks. I can't tell if Quilt Wizard ($4.99) and Quiltography ($14.99) allow you to create your own design and don't want to shell out the $$$ to find out it doesn't work. Lilysquilts.blogspot.com has some great info on using Touch Draw to design but again, you can't audition your fabrics. -- Any suggestions from those that have tried some of these apps would be appreciated.

Check out this thread. I've been meaning to look into this but haven't yet. Hopefully it's what you're looking for.

I have Quiltography. I like it because you can put your own fabrics into it, but you cannot change the blocks. I wanted to add an extra side to the edge of Storm at Sea, it will not let me do it.
One feature I do like, you can put a picture into it and it will graph it for a quilt. It prints directions in PDF with the number of blocks you need for each color. Then it arranges them in graphs of 25 blocks. You can change the number of colors used in it.
Someone did ask about putting the blocks from Quilter's Cache in the program and they said they would look into it but I haven't heard anything from it.

Joyce, I am so glad you asked this question! I downloaded Quilt Wizard Lite, and while it has some good features, it doesn't allow me to do my own design and audition fabrics. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
