I have been watching Sharon Schamber's tutorials on binding. I called her everyday last week and left messages trying to find out where she got the metal tip that she uses on her Elmer's glue bottles. Have search internet and stores here at home and no luck. Does anyone know where she gets them. Looked on her website without any luck, even sent several e-mails and no reply..I like her idea of the glue but need the tip. Would appreciate any help..thanks

I just found mine at the Nancy's Notions booth at the Madison WI Quilt Expo. Before that, I used an empty cleaned out bottle from a home hair dye kit. The nozzle is long and the opening is small enough to put a small stream of glue on the fabric.

I was told they could be found at a large hobby store in model airplanes. if not, try using small dots of glue or just a glue stick and then iron it.

I bought some plastic glue tips at Hobby Lobby in the model car section. After performing some creative surgery on my Elmer's bottle I got it to work.

Remove the cap from the bottle. Remove the orange nozzle and snip off the retainer that holds it on. Insert the new tip into the cap and through the end where the orange nozzle was. Pull tightly. Use a pin to cap it after use.
At first, it did leak out a bit at the bottom of the nozzle, but after that dried, it's been wonderful!
A perfect thin-thin line of glue!

Sometimes a toothpick will work, just put a little bit and dot it on.

I got mine at Michael's. It was a pkg that had 2 small empty bottles and 2 tips. I found it in the aisle with the acrylic paints hanging on the peg wall. With a coupon it was about $4. Most of the time, I don't even use the metal tip, just the smaller bottles. If I'm careful, I don't get too much and the longer tip works great for me.

Thanks for all the advice where to buy the glue/tip. I just ordered a bottle from Nancy's notions; would like to have just purchased the tip, but the glue will be OK too. I appreciate all the comments. have a bless day..
